Risk Factors:
Pregnancy/Lactation: Unknown if drug crosses placenta or is distributed in breast milk. Children: No age-related precautions noted in pts older than 6 yrs. Elderly: Age-related renal impairment may increase toxicity.
Indications:
Symptomatic relief of pain burning urgency frequency resulting from lower
urinary tract mucosa irritation (may be caused by infection trauma surgery).
Adverse Effects:
Occasional: Headache GI disturbance rash pruritus.
Adverse effects/toxic reactions
Overdose in pts with renal impairment severe hypersensitivity may lead to
hemolytic anemia nephrotoxicity hepatotoxicity. Methemoglobinemia generally
occurs as result of massive acute overdose.
Don’t Use:
Precautions: Severe coronary artery disease hypotension renal or hepatic impairment.
