Indications:
Acute and maintenance treatment of Major Depressive Disorder . Acute and maintenance treatment of obsessions and compulsions in patients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) . Acute and maintenance treatment of binge-eating and vomiting behaviors in patients with moderate to severe Bulimia Nervosa. Acute treatment of Panic Disorder with or without agoraphobia.
Adverse Effects:
Nausea headache anxiety vomiting insomnia dizziness and asthaenia rash. Convulsions hypomania and mania anorexia sleep disorders restlessness decreased
libido disturbance in attention dysgeusia somnolence tremor blurred vision palpitations QT prolongation flushing yawning GI upset dry mouth rash and
allergic reactions increased sweating arthralgia urinary frequency gynaecological bleeding sexual dysfunction fatigue chills wt loss serotonin syndrome bleeding
disorders seizures erythema multiforme. Children and adolescents: Suicide-related behaviour mania hypomania epistaxis growth retardation decreased alkaline
phosphatase.
Don’t Use:
Precautions: Hepatic impairment diabetes cardiac disease sTabletle epilepsy psychosis ECT mania risk of bleeding raised IOP narrow-angle glaucoma or history of
glaucoma. Monitor for suicidal ideation. Risk factors for QT prolongation or torsade de pointes. Advise patients to report cardiovascular symptoms. Monitor growth
and pubertal development in children during and after treatment. Dose increases may be detrimental in patients who develop akathisia. Poor CYP2C19 meTabletolisers.
Elderly.Withdraw gradually.
