Risk Factors:

Sensitive skin or history of skin allergies. Pre-existing skin conditions like eczema or dermatitis. Prolonged or excessive use may increase risk of skin irritation. Use with caution in children and elderly patients. Avoid applying heat over the plaster as it may intensify burning or irritation.

Indications:

Localized musculoskeletal pain such as arthritis, muscle strains, or back pain. Pain relief for nerve-related discomfort like neuralgia. Adjunct treatment for chronic pain management.

Adverse Effects:

Local skin irritation, redness, or burning sensation. Allergic contact dermatitis in sensitive individuals. Rarely, blistering or skin peeling. Systemic effects are uncommon but may occur if the capsaicin is absorbed in large quantities.
